I was questioning the discrepancy between cosplaying while black and cosplaying while white. I don't really see how that's related to your analogy. I guess I truly am just a stupid white person.

The problem is when white people try to cosplay PoC they usually do it in an offensive way( brownface, blackface, etc). So if someone white wants to cosplay a PoC go ahead, but do it with respect and recognize that you don't have to play into racial stereotypes to communicate the fact that you're cosplaying...
